Christina Headrick, Owner
Christina is a Tennessee native who wanted to be an artist and writer as a little kid. Prior to founding Carolina Memories, she received her journalism degree from Northwestern University and had another life as a feisty reporter at major metro newspapers.

About two years ago, Christina decided she wanted to follow the footsteps of other entrepreneurs in her family. So shortly after moving to Durham, she left her seven-year stint as a journalist. After a year of planning and education, followed by another year of really hard work, Carolina Memories became a reality.

Christina is extremely thankful to have a truly supportive husband and best friend, Gordon. They have two cats, Sunny and Cal. They enjoy traveling, reading, watching bad reality television, and trying to beat each other in Scrabble.

Christina credits her grandmother, better known as “Mamita” in her family, with starting her down a lifetime of creative endeavors. She officially started scrapbooking about 18 years ago in junior high. Every year of her life since then has gone into a scrapbook, along with lots of memorabilia and personal musings. Christina’s other creative interests include flower arranging, decorating, cooking, and playing guitar, to name a few. But her biggest creation to date is Carolina Memories.

Charlotte Hayes, Design Associate
Charlotte is a native Durhamite who returned to the Triangle after getting her BA in Fine Art from Warren Wilson College, located near Asheville. While she was at WWC, she learned every form of art that she could – print making, photography, book making, jewelry making, ceramics,  paper making – just to name a few. She also designed and organized her college yearbook for two years. Charlotte came home to Durham with her dog, Geffri, (the best dog in the world) and a huge passion for art. She currently does wedding photography and continues to make her own artwork. She recently had an art show at the Page Walker Center in Cary and hopes to have more shows in the future. We are lucky to have her expertise in digital photo editing, book making, paper making, and so much more now at Carolina Memories. (And to think some people say that an art degree is useless!)

Laura Conner, Design Associate
Laura is a North Carolina native, currently living in Hillsborough, who is in school to become a certified nurse midwife. Laura loves to scrapbook everything from friends to her beloved Standard Poodle, Georgia. She enjoys creating pages with extra color and embellishments. Although she’s really busy, Laura likes to spend her free time with friends and being outside. She has had a passion for horses since about the time she learned to walk. She also shares a deep appreciation for chocolate with other Carolina Memories’ staff members.
